Element Hotels has partnered with US solar maker Sistine Solar to produce a unique solar canopy that will allow guests to charge their electronic devices under a nature inspired custom solar powered charging station.
The solar energy generator canopy will provide solar power for eco-minded guests of the Texas Element property, Element Dallas Fort Worth Airport.
The off-grid solar charging installation will allow guests to sit in the shade, socialise and relax outside of the hotel as they recharge their smart phones and other personal electronic devices using nothing but power sourced from the sun. The charging station canopy also has integrated LEDs that allow for the evenings. As the panels absorb sunlight, solar energy converts the light into electricity, which guests can then use to charge their devices.
“Built for today’s eco-conscious traveler, the Element brand has completely changed the face of extended stay with its light-filled atmosphere, eco-minded design and commitment to innovation,” said Brian McGuinness, Senior Vice President of Specialty Select Brands for Starwood. “Our collaboration with Sistine Solar allows us to deliver an efficient custom charging solution that is not only great for the environment, but great for the overall guest experience.”
Sistine Solar Co-Founder Ido Salama commented, “In working with a forward-thinking and powerful brand like Element, we see a tremendous opportunity to radically change people’s perceptions of renewable energy. Instead of hiding panels where no one will see them, as is often the case, we design our panels to be admired from up-close and from afar. We marry form and function to produce a one-of-a-kind guest experience – the magic happens the moment a guest plugs in their device, admires the beautiful nature-inspired design, and makes the connection that our sun is providing clean and renewable energy. In this way, we hope people will begin to see sustainability in a new light, accelerating the adoption of clean energy.”
Element Hotels also offer guests sustainable inclusions and such as electric vehicle charging stations, saline swimming pools and bicycles on loan.
