TFE Hotels (Toga Far East Hotels) has aligned its hotels and resorts in Australia, New Zealand and Europe to the hotel and tourism environmental program EarthCheck Evaluate, run by EarthCheck.

The entire portfolio of nearly 70 TFE Hotels-owned and managed in Australia and abroad will join the EarthCheck Evaluate program with the aim of creating ways to contribute back to the community. Identifying the difficulties in measuring such successes led the hotel group to EarthCheck.

“Having already certified and benchmarked more than 1,300 organisations in over 70 countries, EarthCheck is highly regarded for its science-based approach,” said CEO and EarthCheck Founder Stewart Moore.

“EarthCheck is an award winning organisation that has realised over $500 million in savings for our clients. There are no short cuts, no ways to buy your way in; it’s a matter of being able to prove the integrity of an organisation’s operational practices year-in and year-out, and then be willing to have everything verified by an experienced auditor. By taking a scientific approach to measuring the effectiveness of their sustainability practices, TFE Hotels will be able to identify where they are out-performing other operators and where room for improvement remains,” says Moore.

TFE Hotels operate Adina Apartment Hotels, Medina Serviced Apartments, Rendezvous Hotels, Vibe Hotels and Travelodge Hotels. In 1982 the company opened their first Medina hotel in Sydney, and now employs over 1,500 team members in Australia, New Zealand and Europe.

EarthCheck Certification, has assisted in reducing operational savings for its clients of over $500 million at the same time as reducing their environmental impact in more than 70 countries.

EarthCheck believes smart business practice and sustainability go hand-in-hand. The company focuses on productivity, profitability and performance as well as resource efficiency, eliminating waste and safeguarding the social and natural environment.
