The Taj Group of Hotels has partnered with German ecologist and construction engineer Andreas Froese to recycle PET bottles into a recreational facility in Redhill, Chennai.

Over 30,000 plastic bottles have been contributed by four Chennai Taj properties. The project has been so well received that the Taj Coromandel has plans to recycle more PET bottles into furniture for use in the hotel.

Taj Coromandel also supports local slum rehabilitation with the sale of locally made recycled leather totes and Madras inspired woven plastic bags in Madras checks design, to guests within the hotel.
