SiteMinder and White Linen Boutique Hotel in the fight against sex trafficking in Cambodia

Aimed at combatting Cambodia’s sex trafficking industry, hotel technology provider, SiteMinder has donated an online booking channel to non-for-profit fundraising hotel, White Linen Boutique Hotel, in an effort to increase funding for the Daughters of Cambodia campaign.

Sex trafficking and child prostitution in Cambodia is rampant with research recently published by John Hopkins University identifying that between 40,000 to 100,000 individuals are involved in prostitution. UNICEF estimates that between 30 to 35 percent of that figure are children.

The charity organisation, The Daughters of Cambodia are working to assist sex industry workers to gain life-skills and counselling to empower them to leave the industry, as well as providing alternative employment for victims of prostitution.

Carrie Jussely, White Linen Boutique Manager said TheBookingButton has made a significant difference to White Linen Boutique Hotel’s revenue from direct online bookings.

“Since switching over to TheBookingButton we have seen a 60 per cent increase in our direct bookings. SiteMinder have become an operational imperative for our property’s continued success,” said Ms Jussely.

At a recent Phnom Penh event, Glenn Andrews, Director of Sales & Marketing at SiteMinder Director of Sales & Marketing, Glenn Andrews said, “I was appalled to learn about the prevalence of sex trafficking in Cambodia, and when I heard about the Daughters of Cambodia’s efforts to put an end to such atrocities, I was determined to help in any way I could. As soon as I informed the executive team about the hotel, they were happy to offer the complimentary use of our technology.”
