According to a statement from NUO Hotels, the luxury brand draws inspiration from the country’s 5,000 years of history and cultural heritage and is committed to serving as a custodian of traditional Chinese culture. NUO’s mission is to “build a Chinese national brand that will forge an international path,” and to create “The Chinese Dream” for the hotel industry.
Upon its opening in 2015, NUO Hotel Beijing will include a sophisticated air purification system capable of filtering up to 90 per cent of PM 2.5 particles in public areas and guest rooms.
The Beijing hotel will comply with gold-level certificate standards of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). The building has achieved pre-certification in its infant stage of construction. A further energy saving measure will come in the form of a curtain wall system designed by the German firm Schuco, which will assist in reducing the levels of air conditioning and heating energy consumption. Natural light will be combined with LED globes in an intelligent design lighting system, creating a further reduction in energy usage.
Adrian Rudin, general manager for NUO Hotel Beijing will oversee the development of the environmentally sustainable flagship property.
