Through a demonstrated commitment to sustainability and the environment, Mövenpick Hotel & Resort Al Bida’a Kuwait has received recertification as a Green Globe member.
“We are very proud to earn the renewal of our Green Globe certification,” said Maged Gubr, General Manager at the Mövenpick Hotel & Resort Al Bida’a Kuwait.
“This achievement will encourage us to continuously improve our environmental performance, and raise awareness on sustainability issues in Kuwait. We have implemented a long-term environmental system to reduce the water and energy consumption. Basic measures, such as the installation of water-saving devices, and energy efficient lighting, are part of our best practices. We also encourage our guests to minimise their footprint, join our responsibility programs and local activities promoting awareness.”
Among the resort’s sustainable initiatives, the Mövenpick Al Bida’a initiated nationwide recycling competitions in cooperation with public institutions and schools throughout Kuwait. The aim of the competitions was to educate the younger generation to sustainability issues, and inspire children to care for the environment in their daily life at home and at school.
Mövenpick Hotel & Resort Al Bida’a, also support a number of local institutions, such as the Down Syndrome Association Kuwait (DSA), to improve the life for people with Down syndrome.
“It is our goal to create a better environment for today – and for future generations to come,” added Mr Gubr.
