As hotel’s increasingly realise the expectations from guests for properties to become more environmentally friendly and sustainable, MICE facilities are also looking to offer a greener approach to events.
Singapore Clarke Quay has now launched a range of Green Meeting packages and environmentally friendly MICE facilities themed “Planting your company success“.
Featuring tailored accommodation and meeting packages, the hotel boasts 1200 sq metres of conference space with nine meeting rooms, including a pillarless Grand Ballroom which can host up to 600 delegates. Ideal for workshops, seminars or brainstorming sessions; the meeting rooms come with natural daylight, LED lighting, climate control air conditioning and a large foyer for guest registration, coffee breaks or working lunches.
Following the hotel’s recent ISO 14001 certification, the hotel was awarded the Champion of the Singapore Environment Council under the Kimberly Clark Singapore Environmental Achievement Award in 2014 (Services category). The hotel is launching a series of green meeting packages that offer a range of inclusions.
The hotel has also recently introduced the Eco-pens as part of its green meeting packages which are made of recycled newspapers in Indonesia by “Yayasan Peduli Tunas Bangsa” Accor foundation. The funds collected are then used to run workshops and financially support the underprivileged children’s parents who are employed by the association.
In addition, the hotel will also contribute and support another Accor organisation called “Plant for the Planet”; for every 40 meeting packages booked, Novotel Singapore Clarke Quay will plant one tree in the plantation sites of Pemalang, Central Java. A certificate of participation and support with the number of trees planted on the company’s behalf will be sent to the top 20 supporting companies every 3 months.
