In the lead up to Earth Hour this year, we are taking a look at how hotels and resorts will be implementing their low energy, sustainable efforts.
In Dubai, eco conscious hotel Jannah Burj al Sarab will be hosting a candlelight dinner in the Dining Room, the hotel’s new restaurant.
“At Jannah, we are dedicated to taking steps to ensure the environmental sustainability of the planet, not just for one hour, but throughout the entire year,” Jannah Hotels and Resorts CEO Nehme Imad Darwiche told Travel With Anjaly.
“Jannah Burj Al Sarab is a leader in the field of resource sustainability with water heaters powered by solar panels, motion sensor LED lighting throughout the hotel, and an eco-friendly room management system.
“In addition, we have installed systems that regulate water usage and AC efficiency, while our talents are trained to avoid wasting paper and other resources,” added Darwiche.
Between 8.30 and 9.30pm, the hotel will switch all lighting off right across the 18-floor property.
Guests will be invited to join hotel employees in forming a ‘60+’ figure by candlelight to symbolise Earth Hour.
Earth Hour is an annual event initiated by WWF. Earth Hour this year will be observed by people across the globe on Saturday March 19 from 8.30 to 9.30pm.
We’d love to hear how you will be spending Earth Hour this year.
