A diabetes awareness campaign between W Doha Hotel and Action on Diabetes (AoD) has been launched to tie in with the Islamic month of Ramadan, according to the Gulf Times.
During the month, W Doha Hotel will offer diabetes friendly meals for Iftar and Suhoor in a special Ramadan tent situated inside the hotel’s Great Room.
The Qatar Diabetes Association-approved menu will offer a range of nutritional healthy meals. The AoD meals will be easily identified by diners by a blue AoD circle label.
“W Doha is delighted to have partnered with AoD in Qatar to support such an important cause,” said W Doha Hotel general manager, Safak Guvenc in the report. “We hope it will encourage more and more people to raise awareness of the disease which negatively affects people all over the world.”
Herluf Nis Thomsen, senior project manager, at AoD told the Gulf Times, “I would like to thank the W Doha Hotel for their support of the Ramadan awareness campaign. Eating healthy meals in Ramadan is advised for everyone, including those at risk of developing diabetes and for those who are living with the condition.”
