Cinnamon Grand Colombo, together with Cinnamon Red and Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo joined together to celebrate World Environment Day last week with its annual B2b sale of unique recycled banners to bags initiative.

Originally launched in 2009 by Cinnamon Grand Colombo, the recycling effort was this year expanded to include two sister Cinnamon properties.

The B2b bag project uses flexible advertising signage banners previously used by the hotels, and repurposes them into fashionable and useful bags.

The program reduces waste from discarded banners into landfill or incineration and increases awareness of the need for recycling.

Proceeds from this year’s B2b sale will be donated to the Maharagama Cancer Hospital Children’s Ward and other charitable cancer channels.
