Adaman Langkawi are serious about marine ecology

Luxury Collection resort, the five-star Andaman Langkawi in Malaysia has launched its new marine laboratory, and to help celebrate the launch and World Ocean Day, the resort offered guests the chance to ‘adopt an ‘ARM’ for a fee.

Each ARM adopted will be made in the name of the donator and will have an inscribed plaque on each side. A complimentary certificate with GPS co-ordinates of the ‘ARM’ will allow the fee giver to personally follow up on the progress of the reef rehabilitation.

The new Marine Life Laboratory is expected to have up to 15,000 visitors through the education facility each year. Fun but informative projects such as fish identification and coral transplanting will give visitors a hands on experience in marine ecology.

As well as educating guests and the public, the laboratory will see university marine biologists performing research projects.

If you would like to adopt an ARM and aid marine ecology, you can send an email to theandaman@luxurycollection.com with subject line ‘Adopt an ARM’.
